Regional Director, Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) Pacific
Karibaiti has been working for CLGF Pacific for nearly 16 years. She started as a Senior Project Officer in 2006 before becoming a Regional Director in 2009 until now. She is responsible for managing the work of the CLGF Pacific's programme and relationship-building and advocacy work with members and partners across ten member countries in the Pacific, which include the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Her specific areas of interest are governance, Local Economic Development, Climate Change, Intergovernmental Organization, and passionate working with local government and the community. Before joining CLGF, Karibaiti worked for the Government of Kiribati for many years in middle and senior positions which included serving as the Permanent Secretary for three ministries in Kiribati. Karibaiti holds a BA in Administration and Politics from the University of the South Pacific and an MSc (Human Resource Development) from Victoria University, Manchester, UK.
