Dr. Sam Conrad Joyce

Dr Sam Conrad Joyce is associate professor at Singapore University of Technology and Design, affiliated in a joint appointment with the Architecture and Sustinable Design, as well as the Design and AI pillars. As founder of Meta Design Lab he leads a group which strives to combine AI, analytics, and human intuition to realise the future of data informed building development and urban-planning though technology intensive research. Working on diverse applied projects in collaboration with institutions and government including LKYCIC, CNRS, MIT, URA, NParks, GovTec, Changi Airport, Tampines Town Council, and Changi General Hospital, seeking to integrate novel data streams and analytics to support sustainable, healthy, and socially sensitive cities. Prior he has worked and lead analytics and R&D with roles at Foster + Partners Architects, Buro Happold Engineers, and Autodesk.
